ABC Newschannel 8 reported recently on the success of uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), also known as uterine artery embolization (UAE). A staggering 40% of women over 35 are affected by fibroids and 30,000 women have hysterectomies each year, a number that can be dramatically reduced with the embolization alternative. And among patients that have myomectomies, 30% experience a return of pain and symptoms from the onset of fibroids.
