Can diet help shrink fibroids or keep them from forming or growing larger?
As a part of any good health regimen, a healthy diet combined with moderate exercise may decrease the risk of fibroid development. Research has yet to determine the exact impact that diet has on fibroid development; however, consuming foods that have added levels of hormone may increase the size of fibroids. In specific, the hormones estrogen and progesterone are believed to foster fibroid growth; therefore, taking in increased levels of these hormones may lead to a fibroid size increase. At any rate, although diet regulation may contribute to fibroid size management, other measures are often necessary to eliminate symptoms and issues related to fibroid growth.

How will I know what food catains hormons, were can I go get the information what foods can it?
I’m not so sure about this research. I have multiple fibroids, had a myomectomy, they grew back, and I’m now going for UAE. I say I’m not so sure about this because I’m a Registered Dietitian and follow a low fat, high fiber, organic, semi-vegetarian diet. I avoid foods with phytoestrogens and I excerise 7 days a week. I’m at my ideal body weight and have a desirable BMI. All of my friends and family say I’m the “healthiest” person they know. Yet I’ve had one of the worst fibroid situations that my doctors have seen. So although I’m a Nutritionist, I’m skeptical as to whether or not nutrition actually plays a role in fibroid development or size.
What foods should be avoided,,
As stated previously, research has yet to determine the exact impact that diet has on fibroids. For this reason, we cannot suggest a list of foods that you should or should not eat, as we cannot establish that they are proven effective.
Just to clarify, in the recent blog, Affect of Diet on Fibroid Development, we were in no way stating that refraining from foods high in estrogen or progesterone would directly lead to fibroid size reduction. Instead, we were only pointing to the fact that some scientists have speculated that eating these types of foods may serve as a contributing factor to increased fibroid size, as they contain the same hormones linked to aiding the process of fibroid enlargement.
All things considered, clinical studies have suggested that it is not a sole factor, but rather a combination of factors that may contribute to fibroid size growth. As a result, although diet regulation and exercise is a good health practice, it cannot be confirmed as a remedy for fibroids size reduction. Therefore, it is recommended that individuals suffering symptoms from the presence of fibroids should consult their physician.
