The Least Invasive Surgery

"I actually was one of the lucky ones. I didn't have a lot of symptoms around the fibroid tumors. It really became an issue when I wanted to start thinking about getting pregnant and having a child.

I did have a huge fibroid tumor, huge. Dr. McLucas I think at the time said it was a size of a grapefruit. And it can be scary, you know. You really start to have to toy with the idea "Will I be able to have a child?" or you know now I'm married and the thought was you'd get married to have children and so it got scary in the beginning and I think that the embolization is such a small price to pay in order to be able to have a healthy pregnancy and I really had a great pregnancy. There were really no complications at all.

It's the least invasive procedure. You'll go back to work right away. I was running within a few weeks. It's so different than having a six week recovery surgery for fibroid tumors. It's just the way to go, absolutely.

My younger sister actually had the same thing. And so she just went through the procedure with Dr. McLucas and she too was very happy with how everything turned out.

My daughter's name is Francesca, Francesca Marie. She's named after me. SheÕs a great, smart, very vibrant little 22 month old. She loves to read and she loves to sing and she loves to play. To have Dr. McLucas be the one who delivers the baby was just very reassuring. And I just, overall, I really just feel very lucky that I found Dr. McLucas.

So I would encourage women that are confronted with the situation to really research it and become informed about it and make the decision that would be best for them.

I just really felt that when I met Dr. McLucas, thereÕs something about him and his expertise that you just really feel that he's going to handle it. He gives you all of the information that you need and I just feel absolutely that embolization is the way to go."
