Emergency Embolization

"I distinctively remember the day cause it was Cinco De Mayo. I'm a teacher and I was dressed up for Cinco De Mayo. I was in the classroom and I started bleeding and hemorrhaging. I called Dr. McLucas's office early that morning. They said come on down. Even before I left the office, they got the lab results because they wanted them STAT. They wanted to know what my iron was and the next day I was having the embolization.

The first 24 hours was just like nothing had happened, but I did experience some pain after that. I was walking around and I almost kind of had to remind myself that hey, I just had surgery that morning so take it easy. Whenever I've had any contact with the office staff its top notch. They were the first part of my experience that day.

The difference between before and after the surgery is night and day. My menstrual cycles went back to normal. Now that I am pregnant in my eighth month, I am still free of fibroids. The family's ecstatic. When we told the family I was pregnant, my Mom thought we were talking about a new puppy because we talked about getting a dog. We let my daughter do the honors of saying that I was pregnant. She looked at Grandma and said, 'No, we're having a new baby!' Everybody in the was ecstatic because they didn't think that we were going to have a second one."
